BROOKLYN, NY, NY – An MTA bus hit and killed a bicyclist in Williamsburg on the night of December 23, the New York Post reports.
The bus and the cyclist were both traveling north on Graham Avenue when they collided near its intersection with Metropolitan Avenue shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Few details on the cause of the crash are available at this time.
Emergency responders rushed the injured cyclist to Bellevue Hospital, where he died. AMNY identified him as Adrian Coyotl De Los Santos, 33.
The bus driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police investigations. No arrests had been made as of the following day.
No one else was injured in the crash.
Transportation activists were quick to point out that the intersection was the site of another fatal crash three years ago, and that little has been done to improve safety conditions since then.
