KIRYAS JOEL, NY – A 4-year-old boy was struck and killed by a commercial vehicle in Orange County on Monday, the Hudson Valley Post reports.
The incident happened shortly before 3:50 p.m. yesterday, when a meat delivery truck traveling south on DA Weider Boulevard made a left turn into an apartment building’s driveway and collided with the child as he was stepping off a school bus. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
New York State Police responding to the collision do not believe that the truck driver was intoxicated. Investigations are likely ongoing, and neither the child or the driver has been identified at this time.
