BRONX, NY – A man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a dump truck in the Bronx.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, August 9th. A 2019 International dump truck and Honda CR80 motorcycle were both traveling south on Boston Road when the truck attempted to turn east on Waring Avenue and the motorcyclist struck the truck’s passenger side.
Per the New York Post, the force of the collision threw the motorcyclist to the ground, and he sustained severe head trauma. The rider was unconscious and unresponsive when the police arrived. He was pronounced him dead at the scene. At this time, the motorcyclist’s identity has not been released to the public.
The 27-year-old dump truck driver was not injured in the crash. He remained on the scene and cooperated with the police after the incident.
The New York Police Department’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is still working to determine the cause of the fatal collision.
