FISHKILL, NY – As we reported last week, a construction worker was killed on a job site early Wednesday morning. New details have emerged about the accident, indicating the worker was killed when he was run over by a front-end loader.
The victim, 38-year-old Marcos Espinoza Daniel-Guallpa, was killed at approximately 7:11 a.m. on August 19. The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that Daniel-Guallpa was hired as a contractor by EQL Industries to install new water lines. On the morning of the accident, he was working on the Beacon Hills water project located at Old Town Road and Washington Avenue.
Glenham firefighters, Beacon Volunteer Ambulance medics, and the New York State Police rushed to the scene after the accident occurred. Emergency medical personnel freed Daniel-Guallpa from under the vehicle and attempted to resuscitate him. However, Daniel-Guallpa’s injuries were too severe, and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner pronounced him dead on the scene.
The Fishkill Police Department and the New York State Police are currently investigating this fatal accident. The Beacon Hills construction site was closed for the rest of the week following Daniel-Guallpa’s death.
